ChatGPT vs Claude: free plans compared

Both have a free plan. ChatGPT's free plan offers unlimited text chats with GPT-6 (subject to abuse guardrails) but limits uploads, images and deep research. Claude's free plan works on web, desktop and mobile, with up to 5 Projects and usage limits that reset every five hours. Claude Code and Opus aren't included.
